It doesn' t take up very much room at all. I also like to draw my line onto the front and back edge of the shelf. Use a tape measure and pencil to mark for two shelves on both sides of the uprights. It looks very good in my living with my new flat screen TV. On the centre uprights Im not defining measurements, as these need to be mounted to accomodate your audio or media units. The price is the same as the junk made in China and this unit is solid wood and made in the USA. I ordered the burgundy old finish with bead board doors and when it arrived, I was very impressed with the quality. The corner cabinet I saw was exactly what I was looking for. In the process, I did a google image search for corner TV cabinets and that is how I found Sawdust City. The reviews of these products weren' t great. Everything was made of particle board and/or MDF with veneer and was made in China. We had been looking for a good corner TV cabinet and I was getting very discouraged at what I was seeing available. We would highly recommend Sawdust City to anyone. It is a quality made cabinet that will last us for a long time.

I needed a few things customized and they were more than willing to accommodate. This was perfect and the final product exceeded my expectations.
